Comparing tools

Looking for a Shortwave alternative?

People comparing Shortwave are usually weighing AI features against how much control they keep over what gets sent.

If Shortwave is on your list, you're evaluating AI email assistants rather than just faster inboxes. That's the right frame, and it makes the questions below more important, because AI assistants differ most in what they're allowed to do without you.

This page makes no claims about Shortwave's features or pricing. Those change, and a stale comparison is worse than none. Instead it sets out the questions worth asking of any AI email tool, with CevroFlow's answer to each, including the ones where the answer is a limitation.

Ask these of every tool you're trying, this one included.

What CevroFlow does differently

One analysis per email, not one per feature

Most AI email tools call a model when you ask for something: a summary here, a draft there. CevroFlow reads each message once, and every feature reads that same stored analysis. The category, the priority, the draft, the extracted task and the meeting details all come from one pass. That is why the allowance is counted in emails handled rather than AI actions taken, and why using more of the product does not cost more per email.

The sending rule is architectural, not a setting

There is no configuration anywhere that lets CevroFlow send on your behalf. Drafts are prepared and wait. This is worth checking on any assistant you evaluate, because the difference between "does not send by default" and "cannot send" is the difference between a preference someone can change and a guarantee you can give a client.

Your mail is never training data

Email content is read to produce your results and nothing else. It is not used to train any model, ours or a provider's. Tokens are encrypted at rest, workspaces are isolated at the query layer, and the Gmail permissions requested are read, send and modify, with full mailbox control deliberately not requested so permanent deletion is impossible.

The questions that matter most here

Take these to whichever tools you're evaluating, this one included. Each answer below is CevroFlow's, including where the honest answer is a limitation.

Does it send email on your behalf?

This is the question that decides whether you can trust the tool with a real client inbox. An assistant that can send without you is one bad inference away from an email you have to apologise for.

No, and it can't be configured to. CevroFlow drafts; you read it and click Send. That's a product rule rather than a setting, so there is no state in which an unreviewed message leaves your account.

Is your email used to train AI models?

Business email contains client names, contract terms and pricing. Where it goes after you connect it is a due-diligence question, not a preference.

No. Your email content is never sold and never used to train any model, ours or a provider's. Tokens are encrypted at rest, and the permissions requested don't allow permanent deletion of anything in your mailbox.

Does it do anything beyond sorting and drafting?

Triage saves minutes. The work that follows an email (the task, the meeting, the follow-up you owe someone) is where the hours actually go.

One AI read per email produces the category, the priority, the draft, the tasks, and the meeting details together. That's the architecture rather than a feature list: every part of the product reads the same single analysis.

Which providers does it support?

The honest limitation to check before anything else. A tool that doesn't support your provider is not a candidate, whatever else it does.

Gmail and Google Workspace only, today. If your business runs on Outlook or Microsoft 365, CevroFlow is not the right tool for you yet.

There are eight questions in total, worth asking of any tool in this category.

About CevroFlow specifically

How is CevroFlow different from a general AI email assistant?
The architecture. Each email is analysed once, and every feature reads that same analysis, so the category, the priority, the draft, the tasks and the meeting details all come from one pass rather than separate AI calls you pay for individually.
Will it send anything automatically?
No. Every outgoing email is written by the AI and sent only after you review it and click Send. There is no setting that changes this.
Does it work with Outlook?
Not today. CevroFlow supports Gmail and Google Workspace only. If your business runs on Microsoft 365, it isn't the right tool for you yet.
